Isola Ecologica

Faire: Rome

Maker: Avelon Bardhi

"Isola Ecologica" was conceived with the purpose of entertaining children whilst also contributing toward memory development and awareness regarding a very important contemporary theme. The game will consist of 1 board divided into 4 different environments (Beach, City, Park and Countryside), tiles depicting waste, 1 dice and the "Recycling Plant" which will have a digital reader inside to recognize the tiles, and some motorized hatches that represent the waste disposal bins. Each turn, a given player will collect 1 card from the environment rolled by the dice, place it on the reader, and then press the key corresponding to the correct bin, if the guess was right the LEDs will light up green and the trapdoor will open, otherwise the tile will have to be placed back on the board.

+Re Water

Faire: Rome

USE OF AI FOR THE MAPPING OF AGRI-ENVIRONMENTAL XENBIOTIC CONTAMINATION USING TERRITORIAL MICRO-SAMPLING CARRIED OUT BY BEES

Faire: Rome

Maker: FOSAN ETS

Bees play a fundamental role in ecosystems and are present throughout the territory (at our latitude). The bee carries out its collection and pollination activity in a radius ranging between 2 and 10 km, and is attracted only by plants and clean water, avoiding contact with any waste and/or waste material. Every day, on average, a worker bee visits up to 7,000 flowers, fulfilling its very important role for the ecosystem. Any xenobiotic contamination present in the materials collected by bees and derived products are representative of the contamination of the flora and surface waters of the area where the hive is located. Fosan is starting the creation of a mapping of sentinel hives located throughout the country, in order to monitor the conditions of environmental risk from xenobiotic contamination. The analytical data referring to the samples taken in the various "sentinel hives" are processed with AI techniques to identify level curves of xenobiotic contamination and related hotspots, and the presumed connections with human activities. With AI, the presumed correlations between the recorded anthropic activities and the levels of contamination of the hive products are identified.

Mylîne Cave, fine woodworking and marquetry artist

Faire: Rome

Maker: Mylîne Cave

Imagine that you could create any image, drawing, illustration, or custom board game with wood veneers as thin as lace! This art is called "marquetry", has existed for hundreds of years, and is not highlighted enough. I created my own marquetry techniques for 2 years after my training at the fine woodworking school of Montreal. I am inspired by Art Nouveau, the movement, the Feminine and the Sacred. I explore alternative fields like creating an Ex-Libris Tarot deck or pregnancy ultrasounds in marquetry. I am also making furniture restoration, high-end upcycling and one-of-a-kind creations.

Back to Maker Faire Rome, the extraordinary space dedicated entirely to artisans, manufacturing processes, and the digital revolution! Following the success of 2018 and 2019, Medaarch - in collaboration with WASP and Lab Mec - by popular demand, reintroduces the Center for Digital Craftsmanship for the 2023 edition of Maker Faire Rome. A 145 m² space designed as a public lounge where live demonstrations showcase how the connection between Italian craftsmanship, experimentation, and digital technology is contributing to the revival of Made in Italy, the enhancement of talents, the regeneration of territories, and the creation of an innovation ecosystem. This space is dedicated to the new Renaissance, where one can admire high-impact and commercially successful design solutions achieved through a skillful combination of traditional processes and the use of new digital technologies. The project's protagonists are the new artisan workshops: innovative and competitive enterprises operating in the excellence sectors of Made in Italy, such as fashion, ceramics, wood, and glass. These enterprises will guide us on a special journey into the new era of expertise, where creativity and technological innovation merge to generate large-scale innovations. So, mark your calendars from October 20th to 22nd at Fiera Roma in the Life Pavilion. Over the three days, eight enterprises will demonstrate their processes and the ways they have chosen to use new digital tools, showing how technological solutions can already find fertile ground in Italian production chains, creating strong opportunities for manufacturing and Made in Italy talent. There will be a chance to experience the most interesting virtual reality applications for craftsmanship, presented by Sautech, Medaarch, and Enco with the Artista project. You'll encounter the history and art of master Giuseppe Cicalese, who will create ceramic and sculptural works through live demonstrations involving 3D printing and virtual reality. PuroSole Sistemi Solari a radiazione diretta

Faire: Rome

Maker: Digitarch Farm srl

Heliostats are devices that reflect the sun's rays onto a fixed target. They use motorized reflecting surfaces that automatically follow the trajectory of the Sun. Today they are used only in large plants for the production of electricity with reflecting surfaces of hundreds of square meters and millionaire investments (such as the Archimede thermodynamic plant by Carlo Rubbia). But we think that a heliostat can also be used for other purposes, such as: lighting environments where the sun does not reach, cooking food, water pasteurization, etc. and without the need to use any type of energy other than solar radiation. We have therefore studied and created a simple, cheap and easy to use heliostat. The study and creation of the first prototypes required several years and involved considerable economic resources. A medium-sized coffee roasting plant (30 kg/hour) was also built. The plant, the Hw/Sw projects, the patents, the prototypes, were brought by the partners supplied to the new Start Up Digitarch Farm which will develop the production and commercial process using the already registered PuroSole brand.

PowerMeter

Faire: Rome

Maker: Powermeter Srls

Powermeter has developed smart meter devices for monitoring electricity production and consumption in real time The presentation project of the PowerMeter device for energy communities is ambitious and aims to offer an effective solution for monitoring and managing energy within these ever-growing communities. The PowerMeter device, already appreciated by individual users for monitoring electricity consumption, is now proposed as a valuable resource for energy communities. These communities, often characterized by decentralized production of energy from renewable sources such as solar or wind farms, require an efficient monitoring system to maximize self-consumption and sharing of the energy produced. The presentation of the PowerMeter device for energy communities focuses on three key points. Firstly, real-time monitoring of energy production and consumption by each member of the community. Thanks to PowerMeter, each user will have immediate and detailed access to information on their own energy production and consumption, allowing for more informed and efficient management. Secondly, the PowerMeter device offers the possibility to monitor the energy bought and sold within the community. This makes it possible to establish a precise energy balance, facilitating the fair and transparent sharing of the energy produced among the members of the community. Finally, the presentation project underlines the importance of intuitive visualization of energy data through the dedicated app. PowerMeter provides a comprehensive and understandable overview of energy flows, with clear graphs and statistics that allow for easy interpretation and optimal energy management. Through this presentation, PowerMeter aims to become the ideal partner for energy communities, providing an advanced, easy-to-use monitoring solution capable of supporting intelligent and sustainable management of shared energy.
