Immersive Worlds: Culture and Care in VR

Oggi esistono tour virtuali passivi o video 360°, ma poche soluzioni immersive realmente interattive, pensate per l’utente finale e facilmente fruibili. Il progetto è in fase di sviluppo. Eseguiremo dei test preliminari prima del Maker Faire e sarà anche testato direttamente all'interno di Palazzo Altemps.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)'s Hubble Space Telescope is operated out of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Since its launch in April 1990, Hubble--orbiting about 320 miles above Earth--has played a crucial role in unlocking the mysteries of the cosmos and expanding our understanding of the universe. This year, we celebrate 35 years and nearly 1.7 million observations of space as Hubble remains at the forefront of astronomical and scientific discovery. Come by our booth to see Hubble pictures come to life with our Augmented Reality (AR) experience, use your hands to manipulate a 3D hologram of the telescope, and help yourself to free stickers, bookmarks, and pictures to take home with you.

This year I will be with Dalek Asylum Milwaukee and be showing some really incredible examples of human ingenuity. Scary giant creatures that can turn grown men into mere snowflakes. My philosophy is let the Wookie win. If tested, Dalek technology would prevail over Wookies every time...you'll see. Stop by our booth and ask me about gen Z's culinary shortcomings, or the maybe the advantages of bread pudding over kidney pie. I'm always up to a good discussion on most obscure topics.

DigiDouble is an interactive photogrammetry installation by Ambiens that scans visitors through a multi-camera rig, generating real-time 3D digital twins powered by Replica, the new macOS photogrammetric engine. Each participant receives a personal link to explore, share, or project their 3D self in augmented reality—bridging the gap between physical presence and spatial computing.

Spacebar: Pinball Strikes Back

The Spacebar G.A.M.E. (Giant Arcade Machine Experience) returns to the Bay Area Maker Faire this fall. Having last been seen a year ago, the World's Largest Arcade Machine is returning with a new devastating weapon: VR Pinball Battle Masters. This 2-player asymmetric game pits a player on the outside of the virtual pinball table against a player who teleports inside the machine to operate a rocket launching cannon. The outer player now has to physically dodge rockets flying at their head while attempting to disable the deadly cannon inside. All while using our unique 3D-printed Pinball Simulation Hardware: the PinMaster 3000. This is pinball unlike any other in known galaxy.

Lose Yourself

This installation aims to immerse users into a meditational experience through the use of Arabic Sufi music and Islamic geometry, which reflects a faith-based art practice. By taking the user into an immersive experience of sound and light, the user's current state of mind is encouraged to enter a trance-like state. The change in mind states is captured through the biometric signals from the EEG device, and can in turn alter the colors and geometric art displayed.
