Inside the Machine: Engines, Power & Motion

Our project brings the mechanics of complex machines to life through interactive, hands-on models. We have already completed fully functional and movable models of an aircraft engine and a car engine, allowing visitors to see and test how these systems operate in real life. By the time of Maker Faire, we will also present a hand-cranked mechanical-to-electrical generator, built with a copper-wire stator and dual magnet rotors, where visitors can produce electricity to charge their phones and small devices. In addition, a working car differential will demonstrate how power is distributed to wheels during turns. Together, these exhibits transform abstract engineering concepts into engaging, tangible experiences designed to spark curiosity, simplify learning, and inspire future innovators.

Proponiamo uno stand esperienziale dove MADE, piattaforma web (già online) dedicata alle iscrizioni medievali (VII-XV sec.) di Roma e dell’Alto Lazio, diventa accessibile al pubblico attraverso un laptop per consultazioni tematiche e geografiche delle iscrizioni ivi caricate. Un video-loop dei modelli 3D animerà le iscrizioni mentre l’area “Storie su pietra” presenterà reel originali che trasformano ogni reperto in una narrazione multimediale. Un pannello didattico-illustrativo documenterà l’intero workflow, dalla raccolta dati all’inserimento su MADE, evidenziando metodo e rigore scientifico.

iFab rivoluziona l'accesso alla conoscenza, abbattendo barriere nel mondo della fabbricazione digitale. Il progetto consiste in un assistente virtuale (chatbot IA) e un robot autonomo, che guida gli utenti, fornendo supporto su macchinari e processi, rendendo l'apprendimento e la sperimentazione accessibili a tutti, inclusi bambini e over 60. Il progetto iFab è in fase di prototipazione, con l'assistente virtuale già sviluppato e il robot fisico realizzato e pronto per la dimostrazione. In futuro, il progetto mira a diventare un modello replicabile per altre istituzioni educative, applicando il modello sviluppato in altri ambiti, come robotica, realtà immersiva e sicurezza informatica.

Na letošním Maker Faire Brno 2025 představím kolekci historických neonových nápisů a trubic, které jsem zrenovoval a oživil pomocí inovativních univerzálních neonových napájecích zdrojů vlastní výroby. Prvními odběrateli prototypů těchto zdrojů byli například Lunchmeat Studio a Studio Schlauch. Mezi vystavovanými exponáty najdete například velký neonový nápis „PRAHA“, trubice z překážkových návěstidel, mnoho historických i moderních neonových trubic a nové výrobky z řady "Jako Neon Piko" nově vylepšené o možnost ovládání připojeného neonu pomocí Bluetooth 5.0 z aplikace pro Váš smartphone a z webového rozhraní. Nebude chybět ani ukázka audio modulace pomocí mého bezdrátového systému napájení. Návštěvníci si budou moci prohlédnout a vyzkoušet vystavené neonové zdroje, zjistit, jak fungují, a zároveň se ponořit do historie neonového osvětlení. Dozví se zajímavosti o jejich výrobě, renovaci a o tom, jak se neony vracejí k životu v moderním kontextu. Součástí výstavy bude i možnost vyzkoušet si audio modulaci připojených neonů do rytmu Vaší oblíbené skladby. Pokud vás fascinují moderní technologie, inovace, historická elektronika a kreativní využití tradičních prvků, projekt „Jako Neon“ si rozhodně nesmíte nechat ujít.

Piattaforma Robotica Elettrino32

Elettrino32 is a robotics prototyping board with superior performance to the current ElettrinoPlus. Elettrino32 is designed for enthusiasts of the famous Areduino board, as it is compatible with the related development environment. Like ElettrinoPlus, it is equipped with powerful motor drivers, but this time it can control 4 DC motors for 4WD applications on board. The motor drivers are integrated and produced by ST, capable of managing motors over 50V and with peak currents up to 5.6A. The control logic part is implemented with a 32-bit PIC32MX795F512L processor with 80 MHz clock, 512K Flash, 128K RAM and with 83GIPO (including those already used on board). As with the previous boards, the motors can be powered separately, which is why there are two switches on board, one for the logic and one for the power section. Onboard features include an I2C bus, a button, two general-purpose LEDs, a buzzer, and a selector switch for powering a bank of outputs directly from the batteries, useful for driving high-power servomotors. The board also includes a slot for mounting an OLED display and a WiFi dongle for IoT applications.
